No Quiet Place

The Tetley

Soundscapes and sculptural installations throughout The Tetley’s

Visual Art Event

No Quiet Place explores the environmental and incidental noise which proliferates the physical, sensorial and psychic spaces within our 21st century world. No Quiet Place demonstrates the tension noise creates in everyday life, with some works attempting to control and make sense of it, while others find delight in the background clatter, relinquishing control and embracing the cacophony.

The exhibition features an intergenerational mix of pioneering artists based in the North of England and internationally, who make mixed media, sound-led artwork.

This exhibition continues to 10th July.

The Tetley

A contemporary art centre at the heart of Leeds’ South Bank.

Housed in the original headquarters of the Tetley’s brewery, The Tetley opened in 2013 as a gallery with learning studio, work spaces for creative businesses, restaurant and bar. The Tetley aims to bring the widest possible audience closer to art and artists, through a programme of exhibitions, residencies and events.

The Tetley developed from Project Space Leeds, an artist-led organisation founded in 2006 to create a platform for emerging artists in the North of England. Artists remain at the heart of everything we do at The Tetley today, and we endeavour to inspire and support the artistic development of everyone we engage with.
